Best Gifts for a New Homeowner

If you're help a friend or family member celebrate their big day of signing off on a new home, there are some great "staples" you can start them off with in their new house. Here's my list of Best Gifts for a New Homeowner:

Stainless Steel Pots and Pans
Pots and Pans

A pot and pan bundle is one of the most useful items and often something first time homeowners won't already have. Plus, who wants to spend money on pots and pans? They are busy buying furniture and appliances! It's the perfect gift and buying a quality set of stainless steel pans will last them a lifetime and maybe even get you an invite to dinner.

Kitchen Knives

Knives Gift Set

Maybe they have a few hand-me-down knives from their parents silverware drawer that are dull and dangerous, with rotting wooden handles. Probably not the best way to stock the kitchen knife wood block. Think about purchasing a nice variety bundle of knives so they'll have one for every need, from carving the turkey to cutting up an apple.

Blankets and Cushions

Find out the new homeowner's color scheme (or help them create it) and invest in a nice organic fringe blanket or floor cushion they can enjoy in their new home. These simple additions are comfortable for both the homeowner and guests, creating a space where people can relax and adds to the decor by providing housewares of different texture. Plus, blankets, pillows, curtains and other softlines help reduce noise, especially in spaces with hard floors and surfaces.

Fill The Spice Cabinet

It's another forgotten item, until you're cooking and need a spice you never thought to buy. Finding a mixture of classic, everyday spices as well as including some unique spices in a small decorative basket as a housewarming gift is sure to be a memorable gift. Most importantly, it's practical and the chef of the family will thank you!

Unique Spices

House Plants

Bring some color and life to the home with some simple house plants. Depending on the homeowner, you could choose from unique and rare plants to more typical household plants. There's lots of options, plus fun accessories like pots and macramé plant hangers to customize an individualized for anyone.

Simple and Classy Dishes

Get the new homeowner ready for company! A nice classy set of tableware is a great start to a new home. Stick with something neutral like black dishes or white dishes and get a full set if possible (including bowls, drinking mugs, salad plates, dinner plates, and even some basic serving dishes if possible). Of course, microwave and dishwasher safe are always appreciated!
